A location search and booking portal for a medical laboratory network
Patients search by the test they need and their postcode, see the nearest branches with hours and distance, and book a visit in a few clicks. Built as a web platform for a laboratory network with dozens of locations per metro area.

Overview
A laboratory network with many branches loses patients at the simplest step: finding a location that does the right test, is open at the right time, and can be booked without a phone call. The portal solves that for the patient and for the network. Patients choose a test category, enter a postcode and a radius, and get a ranked list of branches with distance, hours and a “schedule appointment” action. Operations staff manage branches, capacity and appointments behind it.
Challenges
Test availability differs by branch
Not every location performs every test. Results had to be filtered by what a branch actually offers, not just by distance.
Hours are the deciding factor
A branch that is closed when the patient is free is not a result. Opening hours needed to be a first-class filter, not a detail on the page.
Map and list have to agree
Patients switch between a map view and a list view; both had to show the same ranked set with the same details.
Preferred partners
Some locations are preferred partners and some allow online scheduling; the interface had to make those distinctions clear without clutter.
It has to be fast on a phone
Most searches happen on mobile, often on the way somewhere. The search had to respond instantly and the booking flow had to be short.
How it works
Choose the test
A dropdown of test categories, from routine work to employer health, glucose tolerance and TB testing.
Enter a postcode and radius
Radius options of 10, 25, 50 or 75 miles, plus an opening-hours filter for “any time” or a specific window.
Compare branches
Each result shows the facility name, full address, distance, phone number and hours for every day of the week, in list or map view.
Book
Locations that support online scheduling show a “schedule appointment” action; every result has directions.
Operate
Branch staff manage locations, capacity and appointments from an admin panel; analytics show where demand is.
